Ford Kawood Lucas

Ford Kawood Lucas, born November 10, 1894, in Riner, Virginia, was an accomplished Naval Lieutenant in the United States Navy from 1918 to 1919. After his military service, Ford attended VPI (Virginia Polytechnic Institute) and earned a Master's degree in Agriculture. From 1924 through 1928, Ford was a student at UVA Medical School earning a Master's degree as a General Practitioner. Ford then opened his own medical practice in Blacksburg, Virginia. Later in life, Ford enjoyed writing poetry and whittling wood. His final resting place is located in the Lucas Family Cemetery in Riner, Virginia.
