My Dearest Lydia

It is with some reluctance that I write this letter for this simple reason      I wrote you a few day after my return from Willis and have not hurd one word from you + I write to find out what is wrong      I cant imagine for my life

It does seem to me under the peculiar circumstances which + they I wrote that I should have some kind or a reply for this reason      if thing were all O.K. the 17 of June will soon be here + it is high time we were knowing what is what + in reference to some parts of the last letter      I cant see how you come to the conclusion that I did not love you      as I have said before you + only you have I love so well as to ask to be my wife

And if you should split up entirely I must say that that the oposite six will be lowered to a sertain extent for I have placed so much confidence in you + if it should fall through it will be      as I have just said I believe you to be the best girl in every respect      I every went with and father that you love the writer well enough for to be more than we are now some sweet day will I expect      I had better close fearing the letter might

share the same fate as the other one     write real soon and let me know how it is with you

        Your true + faithful

              Boy Ell
