NASA Records
Ernest Balarzs was involved with NASA at certain points in his career after World War II. Below is some information regarding that work, collected from documents found in our research as well as information conveyed to us by a living family member.
Ernest Balarzs received his degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Long Beach University after 1959. He then worked for the Martin-Marietta Corporation at Vandenberg Air Force Base until 1965. This is when he moved to the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. According to a living relative, he was mostly involved in habitat development for Skylab, the first space station deployed by NASA, while in Huntsville. He stayed in Huntsville until the 1980s.
His work with Skylab was as an engineer for the Goodyear Aerospace Corporation. Specifically, he worked for the company as they completed a contract with NASA to complete Skylab. The above documents are rosters from working on the project, listing Ernest's name.
